Hunting season is a great season for Catskill Seasons and the Main Street, Margaretville outdoor shop is reveling in new products, new services, and new customers. The News caught up with Linda Ballard last week as she re-stocked shelves in preparation for last weekend’s rifle season opening.
“This year, we’ve added ammunition to our stock,” said Ballard, “because everyone was asking for it. The shop, which carries all sorts of basics for sports enthusiasts said that a number of different sales reps helped her pick out the wide array of choices that were most likely needed in this area of the state.
Ballard, who increases her hours as seasons change to accommodate customer needs, handles gun cleaning kits, broadheads for arrows, target practice ear protectors, camo and safety orange clothing and is please with the results. “Business has doubled from last year and continues to increase each day,” she said. Ballard first opened nearly three years ago with outdoor and work clothing and accessories but has been increase all of her sporting lines consistently.
In addition to hunting and hiking clothing and accessories, Ballard offers hunting and fishing licenses and keeps everything stocked year around. Curently, she is in the process of becoming a certified WMBE business so she can work with government agency staffers.
