Death Stranding’s Reverse Trike will be released as a collectible model next year for players who haven’t gotten enough of it from the game.
The Reverse Trike from Death Stranding is the quintessential vehicle for anyone needing to traverse the rough environment pretty fast with a bunch of cargo, and the game is quick to give players one, so Kojima Productions, knowing how important a gadget it is, has revealed a model of the bike for fans to keep close while on those long Death Stranding traveling marathons.
Death Stranding is set in a post-apocalyptic United States, where dangerous creatures now roam the earth that players will do better to run from than fight. Players take control of Sam Porter Bridges, a courier who must deliver supplies to isolated colonies dotted across the world and reconnect them to a wireless communications network. As a courier, naturally players have to travel around the map out in the open, perilous world. The Reverse Trike is perfect for a quick get-away, as players can make the trike’s two front wheels combine into one, increasing its top speed. As a trike, with it’s front wheels separate, the vehicle can hold a fair amount of cargo of varying sizes on the chassis and the sides. There are quite a few versions of the trike in Death Stranding, some better for fleeing enemies fast and some to help carry more cargo.

According to Metal Gear Informer, a Reverse Trike model is now available for pre-order from Kotobukiya’s online store, and it will be released in March 2021. Some cargo of different sizes comes with the model, and can be fitted onto the trike so it looks ready to deliver some supplies just like it would in the game. The model can be set in “on road” and “off road” modes by using two specialized stands included for each. The front and rear can be adjusted easily due to the soft tube parts on either side that make sure it’s flexible. All the marking decal needed to recreate the reverse trike perfectly is included, but if fans want someone to ride their reverse trike they can purchase small plastic Luden figurines separately.
The product is part of Kotobukiya’s plastic model range, meaning some assembly and painting might be required to complete the product’s look, but exactly how work fans will need to put in is still unclear. The Reverse Trike can be pre-ordered from several sellers, but Kotobukiya’s online store offers an exclusive plate featuring a Bridges logo that the model can be displayed on. This will cost 7920 yen, or about $75, making this quite an expensive piece to add to any fan’s collection.
Although perhaps a little overpriced, the Reverse Trike is an excellent item to have on a shelf, especially for any fans of model cars out there. This gives gamers a chance to buy a a model vehicle to put together and still connect to a game they love. Or, if minimal assembly is required then it’s just a fun souvenir from the experience of Death Stranding.
Death Stranding is available now on PS4 and PC.
