Delta Cargo Becomes New LUG Client in Frankfurt

Frankfurt on Main, December 2019 ― LUG aircargo handling has added Delta Air Lines (DL) to its customer portfolio at Frankfurt International Airport. The airline has been a customer in Munich for more than five years and LUG has now been able to extent the partnership to the station in Frankfurt. The service quality, infrastructure, and high level of process automation match DL’s wide range of premium products, including pharma and valuables.

Delta Air Lines with headquarters in Atlanta GA (USA) flies three times daily from Frankfurt to Detroit, Atlanta, and New York with a mix of A330 and B767 aircraft. This gives LUG again a westward connection. DL Cargo offers direct customer deliveries for time critical shipments in the US in 50 plus cities.

The USA continue to be an important export market for German industry, especially in the automotive, machinery, and pharmaceuticals sector, despite the current political turbulences and boycott threats. In addition, Germany remains the second biggest market for US goods in Europe – after the UK. Thus, LUG expects a considerable increase in throughput at its terminal in the CargoCity South in 2020.

Uzbekistan Airways renews contract

LUG is delighted about the new business and the expansion of its customer portfolio,  which now embraces four continents. In addition, LUG has been able to renew its contract with Uzbekistan Airways that was first signed in 2010. The airline offers two to three services (according to season) per week between Frankfurt and Tashkent with a mix of Boeing 767 and 787 aircraft.

The achievements announced today are testament to LUG’s position as the leading independent, family owned GHA in Germany.
