It wasn’t too long ago when the term “management system” strictly referred to company software. Now the colloquialism has expanded to include everything from taking out the trash and organizing our closets to scheduling (old-schoolers call them daytimers) and even toilets (Seriously!). Keeping up with the trend, the astute brain trust at Ford has come up with a detailed Cargo Management System for its new Bronco Sport SUV. Evidently, we can swap out motors in Mustangs, but still can’t pack a truck.
Enough Storage Space For Two Bikes
Ford’s been making some noise over the new Bronco’s high-tech features in its passenger interior and its multimodal, off-road abilities despite being smaller than most 4×4 vehicles. But don’t be deceived by the size. There’s apparently enough storage capacity to fit two bicycles in a vertical position.
Additionally, the rubber compound that covers the flooring is designed to prevent any dirt or debris from spreading all over the place, making cleanup a breeze and reducing the likelihood of interior damage during load-in and load-out.
With all that foresight going into the design of the cargo area, it apparently made sense among the Ford brain trust to dispense some how-to advice on how to care for that space regardless of payload.
Divider Key To Better Storage
In order to master these tips, owners should already be fully versed in such Fisher-Price educational aids as Pound-A-Peg and Baby’s First Blocks. Much of the attention in this management system is focused on the divider, which after removal behind the rear seat is a multifaceted tool for creating anything from a shelf to a table.
For an extra shelf, it’s a matter of sliding it onto specialized tracks in the rear compartment, aligning the special triangles, and turning latches clockwise to keep the shelf in place. For best results, position the shelf width-wise.
The shelf even folds open into a table. That involves more sliding, triangle alignment, and latch-turning. But the installment isn’t complete until you pull out two handy legs that rest on the bumper. To disassemble, simply reverse the sequence of installation.
Sectioning Your Stuff Is Also Easy
The Cargo Management System also includes a tip on sectioning, which involves inserting the divider into special slots cut into the tracks. While the instructional video on the system clocks in at just over a minute, it should save hours of frustration that a neophyte would otherwise suffer while stuffing a Sport.
