Covid-19 vaccines brought to Ankara Esenboğa Airport in the morning were transferred to the Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Public Health, Vaccine and Medicine Depot.
Covid-19 vaccines owned by Sinovac company are undergoing a series of processes in terms of reliability and efficiency in warehouses. First of all, pallets are opened by healthcare personnel trained in “cold chain”. At this stage, temperature recorders on each pallet are read. Electronic freezing indicators in each parcel and temperature monitor cards showing heat exposure are controlled. Vaccines are placed in their storage locations after ensuring that they are delivered according to proper transport rules.
Then, by a separate commission, basic quality documents are examined and random samples are taken for analysis.
Samples of the vaccine, Turkey Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) Laboratory in the analysis process will be subject to a minimum of 2 weeks. During this period, vaccines will be stored in special storages that will be kept at 2-8 degrees. Vaccines will be available if deemed appropriate as a result of the analysis.
There are temperature control systems, generators and back-up systems in the Public Health Main Depots where vaccines will be kept. Vaccines will be distributed to provincial warehouses by specially designed vehicles with air conditioning features after the necessary analysis.

For years, successful implementation of the program and the vaccination rate up to 97 percent with Turkey, has a large experience in vaccination.
With the Vaccine Tracking System (ATS), which was introduced in 2014 for the first time in our country with domestic facilities, live monitoring is possible for 24 hours. ATS is the only central automation system in the world currently used for this purpose. With ATS, whose intellectual property belongs to the Ministry of Health, it is possible to monitor the cold chain and stock status 12 hours a day at more than 24 thousand points in every warehouse, vehicle and cabinet where vaccines are located. With ATS, it is possible to measure temperature precisely from -80 to +50 degrees.
Turkey ranks in the top 3 in the world in vaccine storage capacity. When compared with the population and the number of vaccines administered, it appears to be the country with the highest capacity.
Turkey, both in infrastructure and logistics, as well as well-trained human resources with the vaccine is in a position which was exemplified in the world.
