A sinkhole in New Port Richey reopened Thursday afternoon one week after a repair company filled the hole, according to Pasco County Emergency Management.

The hole was filled on Jan. 7, but on Monday material already started to collapse, according to the department. As it reopened, the sinkhole grew to about 50 feet wide. Previously it was about 46 feet wide and 130 feet deep.

The sinkhole, along Spring Haven Boulevard, is on private property whose contractor is working to fix the hole, the department said. A southbound lane of Little Road near the depression is closed.
