General Motors’ current full-size SUV lineup includes a swath of next-generation offerings from Chevrolet (Tahoe and Suburban), GMC (Yukon), and Cadillac (Escalade). With the new GM T1 platform providing the bones, these all-new SUVs offer enhanced ride comfort and the latest technology, all while packing in copious passenger and cargo room. But what about GM’s other North American brand? What about a full-size Buick SUV?
It’s an interesting concept, so to find out what a new full-size Buick SUV could look like, GM Authority reader Brandon L. DeJean flexed his digital art skills and came up with the following two renderings.
A recent graduate from Youngstown State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, DeJean calls his new renderings the Buick Estate. The renderings combo the size and presence of GM’s latest full-size SUV models, but with the style and class of a modern Buick Avenir model
Standout details on the new Buick SUV models includes a stylish fascia design, with pointed headlamps that are pulled back towards the fenders, giving the front end a taut, muscular look. The headlamps are connected by a single LED bar that stretches all the way across the upper grille section, bisecting the air intake into a lower and upper section, while also illuminating the centrally placed Buick logo.
Large, polished wheels roll under the fenders, while the lower body color is matched to the rest of the panels for a more premium look, as compared to the black lower body components on models like the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe.
A similar theme can be found in back, where the long, horizontal lighting design is used again for the tail lamps. Quad exhaust pipes peak out from under the rear bumper, while polished trim complements the large wheels.
Naturally it bears mentioning that there’s currently no indication General Motors will actually produce a new full-size Buick SUV. Nevertheless, it’s a cool idea, and these renderings prove that such a model could look quite nice as well.
