IDP Education has tapped SAP Gold Partner excelerateds2p to deliver SAP Concur and SAP Ariba solutions across its global operations.

Just this August, the ASX listed company and a global leader in international education services, has been named one of the finalists for 2020 SAP Best Run Awards for Australia and New Zealand for the Best Run SAP CRM & Customer Experience category. The award category recognises organisations that have implemented SAP C/4HANA, SAP Customer Cloud, SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud, and built trusted relationships between their brands and customers.
This week, the spotlight shone on IDP Education again for implementing a global strategy that streamlines its procure-to-pay processes. excelerateds2p, a global procurement and finance transformation specialist, was the chosen SAP partner to deploy SAP Concur and SAP Ariba across the organisations’ global operations
Melbourne-based IDP’s core business lines include student placement to Australia, US, UK, Canada, and New Zealand institutions, English-language testing and training. For over half a century, the global company has been helping international students explore study options and choose from over 180,000 courses and over 600 partner schools and universities. Aside from having over 120 offices across 32 countries, the IDP also co-owns the world-trusted International English Language Testing System (IELTS) standardised test.
The Implementation Partner
Known as a leading global source-to-pay and supply chain transformation specialist, excelerateds2p was selected to be IDP’s partner for SAP Ariba and SAP Concur solutions implementation. Through these SAP procurement solutions, IDP was able to standardise its procurement processes across 28 countries; increase visibility into direct and indirect spend; improve access to real-time data and analytics; and eliminate manual tasks.

Accelerating IDP’s Digital Transformation
IDP is no stranger to implementing SAP solutions. The SAP Ariba first global roll out in June 2019 has increased IDP’s percentage of spend contracted with preferred suppliers connected to Ariba Network. The digital advancement has driven: cost savings of $5 million in the first year alone that equates to 5 percent of its addressable spend; efficiency improvement; and better supplier collaboration.
Murray Walton, Chief Financial Officer at IDP, shared that the SAP technology investment enabled IDP to establish the foundations needed for its business growth and delivery of world-class user experience to staff. He said:

Leveraging SAP Concur and SAP Ariba solutions have led to IDP’s staff seamlessly creating more than 4,100 purchase orders and submitting over 4,900 expenses, respectively. The global company utilised SAP solutions in fulfilling its need for a global procurement process for laptops and notebooks for its staff. IDP was able to reduce the average cost of each laptop by 29 percent by consolidating suppliers with the help of SAP Ariba.
