Amazon is making a major investment in its Canadian fulfillment infrastructure.
The e-tail titan is opening five supply chain facilities in Quebec will create more than 1,000 jobs. These include what will be Amazon’s largest sortation center in the province in Coteau-du-Lac in 2021. Amazon says the 520,000-sq.-ft. facility will create at least 500 jobs. In addition, Amazon opened its first sortation center in Quebec, a 200,000-sq.-ft facility in Longueuil in 2020, creating another 500 jobs.
Amazon will also open its first two delivery stations in Quebec during 2021. One will be located in Laval and the other will be located in Lachine. Amazon’s third Quebec delivery station will open in 2022 in Laval. These delivery stations will add hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs in addition to the company’s sort center expansion. Amazon opened its first operations facility in Quebec in July 2020, a fulfillment center in Lachine, creating 300 full-time jobs.
