The UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has launched a consultation ahead of introducing a new supply chain plan questionnaire for the CfD round four auction.
The new supply chain plan questionnaire is for developers aiming to bid their renewables projects into the 12GW round.
The plans for the new questionnaire follow government proposals set out last November to strengthen the supply chain mechanism as part of changes to the CfD which aim to boost the level of local content at successful projects.
BEIS said developers will need to complete the questionnaire, which will score supply chain plans across various categories, before they can bid.
The government said the questionnaire will be used to determine the eligibility of projects to bid into the scheme.
Developers’ completed questionnaires will also be used to for the ongoing monitoring review and assessment of how well projects adhere to commitments made in their supply chain plans after CfD award.
BEIS is seeking feedback on the plans until March 11 and is specifically asking for responses to eight questions.
BEIS said it will analyse feedback following the closure of consultations and set out its final ideas in summer, before CfD4 opens in late 2021.
Westminster is still seeking feedback on its design for CfD round four as part of a separate consultation which closes on 28 January.
