Epic Games have responded to the freezing loading screen bug players are experiencing.
Although there hasn’t been many major updates in Fortnite Chapter 2, nor has there been many items added to the game, there’s still been several bugs over the past couple of months that have plagued the game.
The Bandage Bazooka that was added at the start of chapter 2 season one was disabled for more than two weeks, which caused frustration amongst players trying to complete the handful of challenges that required the Bandage Bazooka in order to complete them.
Every live event that Epic has put on has also caused several issues with players not being able to experience the event due to login errors. The Star Wars event that took place last month also suffered from the same issues, with a large number of players not being able to login to experience the event.
There’s currently more than 10 bugs that Epic are aware of and are looking to fix, and one of them is a recent bug that has occurred which causes players to free at the loading screen.
Fortnite Freezing Loading Screen Bug
Yesterday on January 3rd, Fortnite players were posting about the bugs that are currently plaguing the game. One player mentioned that they are getting loaded in as a default skin, and the map and loading screen keep popping up, and they can’t do anything in the game apart from jog. Here’s a video of the issue:
Bug game play. Warning I swear (Aussie) l. All platforms affected. Loaded in as default. Map and loading screen keep popping up. Can’t do anything but jog from FortNiteBR
One of the Epic employees replied stating that they will look into the bug, and later a tweet was posted on the Fortnite Status Twitter account that confirmed they’re aware of the issue and will investigate and provide an update when they have more information.
Can’t Access Inventories or move in Fortnite
The Fortnite team also created a Reddit post mentioning that they are looking into an issue where players don’t have access to their inventories when they’ve loaded into a match, or they’re unable to move.
As of writing, it doesn’t look like the issue has been fixed, but we’ll keep you updated as to when the issues are resolved.
