Aerial solar inspection company Above Surveying has announced the appointment of Peregrine Fraser as chief operations officer.

He brings with him 12 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, and has held roles at Push Energy, PSH Operations, Macquarie Bank and Evo Energy.

In his early career, Fraser worked at enterprise software companies such as SAP Ariba. Above has said that this experience, combined with his knowledge of the solar value chain made his hiring a “strong move”.

He joins the company as it looks to develop its disruptive software platform SolarGain, which was launched in December.

Above CEO and founder Will Hitchcock said that it will be “great to have Peregrine onboard, having worked with him on several projects at Push Energy, I know he is an excellent fit for Above”.

“His blend of software and solar experience is perfect for the next phase of growth,” he continued.

The addition of Fraser comes after the company set its eyes on increased international expansion, having secured expansion capital from multiple family offices.

Last week, Above acquired German drone start-up ucair, furthering its access to the German market and strengthening its European presence.

Fraser said: “I have always admired the company for its innovation and commitment to quality.

“There has been demand for Above’s services in four continents already, and there is a clear need for our services on every solar project. I hope my experience in managing solar project development, EPC and O&M businesses means we continue to offer pragmatic solutions with measurable benefits to our customers and to take that message to a global audience.”
