Today (November 11) is Veterans Day, a federal holiday. As such, you may be wondering if mail is delivered today. Veterans Day is a holiday to celebrate those who have fought or are fighting for the U.S. It falls on November 11 as on, this day in 1918, an armistice was called at 11 a.m., widely regarded as the end of the First World War.
While the holiday was originally known as Armistice Day, in 1954 it was renamed as Veterans Day to honor those who fought in World War II and the Korean War, according to History.com. Today the holiday honors all veterans and active military personnel. Veterans Day is different from Memorial Day, which honors those who died fighting for the U.S.
As its a federal holiday, services may be disrupted. Find out below if USPS, UPS, and FedEx will be delivering on Veterans Day and if any services may be canceled. Be sure to plan ahead of the holiday so that you are disrupted a little as possible.
