Karimnagar: Special precautionary measures have been taken in setting up of paddy procurement centers (PPCs) in the wake of the spread of coronavirus, stated Collector K Shashanka. He conducted a review meeting with officials and rice millers to discuss about paddy procurement at Collectorate conference hall here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he instructed the officials to take all precautionary measures in setting up of PPCs. According to government instructions, procurement centers have been established in every village in the district.
Informing that sufficient number of harvesters were available in the district, he asked the farmers to bring in their produce to PPCs one after another instead of rushing in huge numbers at a time.
Farmers have to bring their crop to the centers according to token issued by the mandal agriculture officer, he said and advised to bring completely dried crop. Collector assured to issued passes to staff working in various rice mills.
Additional Collector Shyam Prasad Lal promised to solve the problems of rice millers. Besides maintaining hygiene, drinking water and electricity arrangements would also be made at procurement centers.
