Karimnagar: Good news to farmers who supply milk to Karimnagar Dairy. The dairy management has decided to hike the milk procurement price by Rs 2 per litre in addition to Rs 1 per litre incentive along with the Rs 4 incentive per litre paid by the State Government.
Besides, the dairy farms (bulk suppliers, who would supply more than 50 litres to dairy) would also get an incentive ranging from Rs 1 to Rs 4 per litre depending upon the quantum of milk supplied to the Karimnagar dairy.
A decision to this effect was taken at the Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited (KMPCL) Board of Directors meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Ch Rajeshwara Rao.
With this decision of increasing the milk procurement price, the farmers would get Rs 640 per kg of fat for buffalo milk against the old rate of Rs 620 per kg fat for buffalo milk. For cow milk, the farmers would get Rs 257 per kg (total solids) against old rate of Rs 245 per kg total solids plus an incentive of Rs 1 per litre.
The Karimnagar Dairy would procure one litre of buffalo milk having 6 per cent fat content at Rs 39.40 paise against the old rate of Rs 37.20 per litre, seven per cent fat at Rs 45.80 paise per litre against old rate of Rs 43.40 per litre and 10 per cent fat content at Rs 65 per litre against old rate of Rs 62 per litre. Similarly, the cow milk having four per cent fat would be procured at Rs 33.13 per litre against the old rate of Rs 30.63 per litre, the 4.5 per cent fat content cow milk would be procured at Rs 34.41 per litre against Rs 31.85 per litre and 5 per cent fat content at Rs 35.70 against the old rate of Rs 33.08 per litre.
