Link3D has introduced its Quality Management System (QMS) which has been designed to enable end-to-end quality data traceability throughout additive manufacturing workflows.
The company unveiled its new software tools at Formnext and says the QMS platform will help additive users to improve quality, reduce cost and meet customer compliance requirements. By gaining visibility into their workflows via a digital thread, manufacturers will be able to identify and address processes failures and defects.
Link3D believes the digital thread enabled by QMS will help users to understand their workflows better and implement process improvements for various AM modalities. Data can be captured throughout the supply chain, allowing customers to track a part’s lineage from material procurement through parts design, build preparation, production, post-processing and final quality inspections. The QMS encompasses machine learning, statistical process controls and data visualisation, while built-in feedback loops help to ensure continuous improvement by flagging ‘areas of interest’ for engineers to review. Risk assessment and mitigation plans can also be developed and data can be tracked automatically.
