CHICAGO – Profit Chain, a new supply chain consulting firm, has just launched with a focus on enabling small to medium sized furniture retailers and manufacturers compete more effectively in today’s digital economy.
“We know that the furniture industry has fundamentally changed, and companies need to ask the question: Has your company changed to keep up with your customers’ expectations?” said Profit Chain CEO and founder Riaz Husein in a release.
The new firm’s goal is to help companies grow their business and maximize profit by delivering product faster and more efficiently than their competitors. Profit Chain consultants will be meeting and hosting clients during the upcoming Las Vegas Market in the HFA Resource Center, B-1050, in booth 23.
Husein and Profit Chain’s other principal consultants – Sales Director Bill O’Malley, and principals David Holcomb and Chuck Basa – all have extensive experience with leading companies in furniture, logistics, distribution, delivery and supply chain operations. That includes designing and implementing projects and process improvement within major retailers and wholesale companies, working with both large- and small-scale delivery and distribution networks.
Husein’s prior experience includes serving as COO of Louisville, Ky.-based Hillsdale Furniture, vice president of logistics and operations for Macy’s and vice president of operations and IT at Ashley licensee Morris Furniture.
O’Malley’s career includes vice president of logistics and bedding for Macy’s in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Colorado; vice president of distribution, warehousing and transportation for Mattress Discounters; and vice president of operations at Levitz Furniture, Boca Raton, Fla.
Holcomb has worked as Macy’s group vice president for logistics and operations, and chief safety officer and assistant vice president for customer relations and delivery at Levitz Furniture.
Basa’s prior experience includes serving as vice president of e-commerce operations at Macy’s and Kohl’s Department Stores, and senior manager of business process improvement at Lowe’s Cos.
Profit Chain has developed a process called OPTlmize, a proprietary methodology specifically designed for the small to mid-sized business. This process is designed to enables both manufacturers and retailers to enhance and improve their supply chains and keep up with their larger competitors as customers continue to demand more robust omnichannel experiences.
