Protest opposes Amazon warehouse project in North Andover

Protesters gathered Monday in North Andover to protest an Amazon delivery facility project in North Andover, one of many underway across Massachusetts.Amazon is redeveloping a portion of the site at 1600 Osgood Street to create a 5-story, 3.6 million-square-foot facility.As part of an agreement with the town, Amazon received a Tax Increment Financing Agreement that’s expected to save the company $27 million over 10 years while North Andover collects $18 million in new taxes over the same time. The group expressed concern over how the large warehouse will transform the community and affect nearby businesses.
