Madhya Pradesh: Registration for procurement of wheat currently in progress till Feb 20

In Madhya Pradesh, registration for procurement of wheat is currently in progress, which will run till February 20. All arrangements are being made in the state for timely procurement of crop in the interest of farmers.
Wheat will be procured from March 22 in Indore and Ujjain divisions in MP and from April 1 in the remaining divisions. Around 4529 procurement centres are being set up across the state.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while reviewing Rabi procurement preparations yesterday said that all essential facilities should be provided to the farmers at the procurement centres. Their crop should be procured on time and there should be no delay in payment after the procurement.
Arrangements are also being made for immediate transport of the procured crop. So far, 4 lakh 13 thousand farmers have registered for wheat procurement. It is expected that around 20 lakh will register by the end of registration period. This time the support price of wheat will be 1975 rupees per quintal against last year’s 1925 rupees per quintal.
