Rugby League World Cup 2021 organisers have announced that procurement experts YPO will be an official supplier for the tournament.
YPO is a public sector procurement organisation with more than 40 years’ experience.
It is a publicly owned central purchasing body based in Yorkshire in England.
YPO plan to help organisers of next year’s event with ensuring that procurement, the process of agreeing terms and acquiring goods and services, is done ‘efficiently.’
Rugby League World Cup organisers plan to outsource a range of services over the next couple of years including media, communications, logistics, travel, technology, analytics, equipment and insurance.
Organisers claim they have five major goals for next year’s tournament – to be the most attended and viewed World Cup ever, to deliver a profitable tournament, to leave a long-lasting legacy, to increase profile and visibility for Rugby League and to be the most digitally connected sports entertainment event of 2021.
“To deliver the biggest and best Rugby League World Cup ever we require partners who share this ambition and align with our values of being bold and brave, and world class”, said Jonathan Neill, commercial director at RLWC2021.
“YPO has a hugely valuable skills set and will work alongside us to ensure that we run an effective and efficient procurement and business engagement programme over the next two years.
“We have been delighted with the proactive engagement to date across the business community, and welcome further approaches from organisations who think they can have a positive impact on delivering our vision.”
