As per the directives of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Ranchi Sameera S conducted a meeting with rice procurement centres of all the blocks to resolve the difficulties being faced by farmers on Thursday.
District Supply Officer Shabbir Ahmed, representative of Rice Miller Association, State Food Corporation personnel and others were present in the meeting.
While reviewing the progress of paddy picked up by rice mills, the SDO directed the concerned rice mills to obtain 100 percent paddy from farmers. The SDO further stated that all the concerned rice millers would ensure to make rice available daily to FCI depot as per the target set by the District Supply Office and to lift the paddy stored at all paddy procurement centers daily.
The FCI was directed by the SDO to make arrangements to get 25 lots of paddy daily. Rice millers were also given a daily target which includes Balaji Agrotech, Hemraj Rice Mill and SMV Agro Products at 3 lot each, Sakambari Rice Mill at 5 lot, Tulsyan Rice Mill and Sidhi Vinayak Rice Mill at 2 lot and 1 lot respectively.
Meanwhile, a stall selling solar lights made under the initiative “Ranchi ki Roshni” was put up at district collectorate office on January 22 from 11 am to 4 pm.
All the solar lamps were sold in about two hours’ time. The women of the Self-Help Group were also happy to see the enthusiasm of the people purchasing the lamps.
The price of a solar lamp has been fixed at `160 and a stall for its sale will be put up at the district collectorate office block-A on every Wednesday and Friday.
