Supply chain management is a booming field evident in nearly every business involving
supplying goods to customers. Transport companies have turned to apprenticeships to
lower their logistics recruitment costs. Managing a supply chain requires knowledge
and skills in everything from purchasing raw materials for manufacturing products,
storing inventory, warehouse operations management, shipping and transportation, customer
service, to demand planning.
The Supply Chain Management/Logistics Apprenticeship is a two-year program. Students
attend school in 12-week blocks each semester including the summer. They are in class
on Tuesdays and Thursdays and work at the employer on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Students are assigned a dedicated mentor on the job.
Apprentices completing this program will have earned an A.A.S. degree in Supply Chain
Management, a certification from the Department of Labor that they are fully qualified
for their occupation, and at least two years of experience.
