SyncFab adds former SAP-Ariba Product Management Leader as Advisor strengthening Manufacturing ERP?—?Blockchain Modularity Expertise
Manufacturing ERP say hello to the Smart Manufacturing Blockchain®
Most manufacturing supply chains are currently managed by internal databases with a combination of on-premise and/or cloud computing capabilities powered by SAP, Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft ERP database technologies. Blockchain promises to greatly complement and possibly even disrupt segments of existing manufacturing ERP systems. Both the security and transparency features of Blockchain alone stand to contribute a tremendous amount to the ecosystem. Since most enterprises have invested a lot in their legacy ERP systems, however, an ERP compatible approach is very important. SyncFab is delighted, therefore, to add a Silicon Valley-based early-stage ERP Supply Chain integration expert to our Advisory Board.
SyncFab Welcomes former SAP-Ariba Supplier ERP Expert Henry Robinson to Advisory Board
Henry Robinson, Blockchain Expert and former SAP-Ariba Cloud Integration Senior PM
SyncFab is delighted to announce Henry Robinson has joined the Advisory Board. He is a bonafide blockchain enthusiast serving as an early Tezos Baker, Ethereum miner, and high-frequency cryptocurrency trader. “There is a clear synergy between ERP and Blockchain technologies which need to be further developed in order to harness their full potential,” said Henry Robinson. “Working with SyncFab will be a natural fit for me, and I’m honored to be part of the advisory team.”
Henry is an innovative product management professional, technology strategist and product visionary. He has been instrumental in successfully launching lines of business and shipping award-winning products in several industries?—?including Mobile, SaaS, Consumer Internet Services, eCommerce and Automotive. Henry is an inventor on two machine learning patents and is an early adopter in the cryptocurrency mining and blockchain space. Henry currently leads the Mobile Product Management team at Xtime.
Before Xtime, Henry was a Senior Product Manager at Ariba, an SAP Company, where he orchestrated the Ariba Integration Connector. This product connects the ERP/Back-End Accounting Systems of thousands of customers, to the complete Ariba Suite. In his previous Ariba Role, he was the Senior Product Manager for Ariba Discovery, one of the world’s largest business-to-business trading platforms. By laying out a product vision, prioritizing features and introducing pricing, Henry turned a beta product to a mature component of the Ariba Software Solution Suite.
Before Ariba, Henry was the Auto Parts Category Manager at eBay Motors, where he was instrumental in the ideation, planning, and launch of the world’s first Auto Parts Marketplace, that supported vehicle compatibility. This product combined user-generated content with 3rd party catalog data to power a marketplace where consumers could trade auto parts, with the knowledge that the components were actually designed to fit their intended vehicle application.
Before joining eBay, Henry worked at General Motors in various roles in engineering. He spent the majority of his time with the company as an engineer on the Front Wheel Drive Truck platform, delivering the interior designs for the award-winning Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave.
Henry holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
The introduction of blockchain distributed platforms like SyncFab allow supply chain processes to be more responsive with the ability to source and manufacture with the best economy, have optimized quality, be nearest to the market, and pass on more value to the hardware buyers. From a supply chain perspective, there is a lot of synergy between blockchain with enterprise systems reason being transactions in a non-blockchain enabled environment still have existing inefficiencies, fraud, pilferages with more and more regulations and compliance, a greater trust deficit, and continue to need more monitoring which has given rise to numerous codes, the advent of escrow, and clearinghouse services to name a few.
“It is apparent that there are three areas of evolution for the blockchain within the ERP: use cases on supply chain for ERP-blockchain integration, the middleware for connecting the blockchain with ERP, and blockchain as a service (BaaS). These are rapidly developing areas that could offer greater opportunities for SyncFab to pursue,” said CEO Jeremy Goodwin.
