The White Transfer & Storage Co. site west of Fort Dodge will be the site of a $4 million investmnet in the form of a major addition to a warehouse. The Webster County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday voted to declare its support for the project.

A Webster County storage business is constructing a massive addition to one of its warehouses to meet surging customer demand.
Construction of the 105,000-square-foot addition is underway at the White Transfer & Storage Co. site between Fort Dodge and Moorland.
”There’s just a big demand with local customers – a real need for warehousing,” company President Denny Crimmins.said Tuesday.
He said the addition is being constructed to meet the growing needs of some of his company’s current customers. He declined to name them.
The expansion is expected to create some new jobs. Crimmins said some additional truck drivers, warehouse workers, forklift operators and clerical workers will be needed when the project is done. Just how many additional workers will be needed isn’t known yet.

On Tuesday morning, the Webster County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution of support for the project. Approving such a resolution is usually the first step to providing property tax incentives or other assistance to a project.
Crimmins said the company will be seeking property tax abatements.
Jensen Builders Ltd., of Fort Dodge, is the general contractor. Construction started in early June and is expected to be completed by Jan. 1.
This addition follows two other warehouse projects recently completed at the company’s site on Webster County Road D22.
When it is done, the company will have 350,000 square feet of warehouse space.
